Well, a glitch in the works.

So, we're in Lac Du Flambeau ("Lake of Torches"), and we're having mexican. It's actually a pretty good restaurant, and the beer is local. Whee!

Got here at about 4 PM (made very good time). Met with Dan, who turned out to be a real nice guy, and a heck of a wood-worker. He was, however, reasonably cautious, and wanted to have his bank verify the check that we brought. In spite of it being a bank check, we're going to have to wait until tomorrow morning for his bank to open, and for them to verify the check, before we can hook up to the mill to bring it home.

Ah, yes, the mill: Dad says, "It's all that I expected it to be, and then some." I say: He's a kid in a candy store. He was pretty impressed with the demonstration that Dan gave, was very happy with how it operated, and after a rewiring of the harness on the trailer (and a BIG thank you to Jim Vassar for emergency long-distance information), it's ready to tow. As soon as the bank opens in the morning (8 AM is 9 AM to you folks back in EST), we'll be verifying funds, hooking up, and heading home.

The trip home will be a bit tougher, because we won't be able to use the EZPass to get through tolls (adding the axle would raise alarms, and cause fines to be issued -- no fun there). I'm also concerned that we're due to hit Chicago at rush hour tomorrow. So that might be fun. We'll see how it goes.

We're staying a little local hotel -- the proprietor was (we're fairly sure) potted fairly well when we checked in at 6:45 PM. But, it seems to be a clean place, they have a satellite dish, and a shower, and the beds look Ok. We'll see how we fare the night, and report from the road tomorrow.

'night all -- see you late, late, late on Wednesday night, we hope...
